Privacy Policy

1. Introduction
YouTube Agent ("YouTube Agent," "we," "us," or "our") provides a multi-tenant dashboard that helps YouTube creators and teams track competitor channels, mine audience comments, and plan content using data retrieved from the YouTube Data API and related sources. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or otherwise using YouTube Agent (the "Service"), you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign in through our authentication provider (Clerk), we receive your name, email address, profile image, and a unique account identifier. If you sign in with Google, this may include basic Google profile information made available to us by Google's OAuth consent flow.
- Tenant configuration data. Information you enter to configure your workspace: organization/tenant name, industry, niche description, target keywords, monitored subreddits and Facebook groups, and optional integration credentials such as a Slack webhook URL or Notion API token.
- YouTube channel and video data. Publicly available data about the competitor channels you configure — channel names, handles, subscriber counts, upload counts, video titles, view counts, and topics covered — retrieved via the YouTube Data API. We also process publicly visible comment text from videos you or your configured competitors publish, in order to generate comment insights (question, objection, request, and testimonial categorization).
- Usage data. Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and log data generated when you use the Service, used for security, debugging, and reliability purposes.
3. How We Use Google User Data and the YouTube Data API
YouTube Agent uses the YouTube Data API Services to retrieve publicly available channel and video metadata for the competitor channels each tenant configures. Specifically, we use this data solely to:
- Generate weekly competitor snapshots (subscriber counts, subscriber growth, upload cadence, and top-performing videos) displayed on your dashboard.
- Generate content briefs and idea feed items derived from public video metadata and keyword signals relevant to your configured niche.
- Categorize publicly visible comment text into insight categories (question, objection, request, testimonial, general) to help you understand audience sentiment and content gaps.
- Analyze publicly available retention signals for videos you specify, in order to suggest editing and pacing improvements.
Limited Use disclosure.YouTube Agent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:
- We do not use data obtained through Google APIs to serve advertisements, including retargeting, personalized, or interest- based advertising.
- We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer Google user data to third parties, data brokers, or ad networks.
- We do not allow humans to read Google user data unless: (a) we have your affirmative consent for a specific support request, (b) it is necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) it is necessary to comply with applicable law, or (d) the data has already been aggregated and anonymized.
- We only transfer Google user data to third parties (such as our hosting and database providers) as necessary to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets after notifying affected users, and always subject to confidentiality obligations consistent with this policy.
4. Optional Third-Party Integrations
If you choose to connect a Slack webhook or a Notion database, we send weekly report summaries to the destination you configure. We do not access any other data in your Slack workspace or Notion account beyond what is strictly required to deliver the content you configured. You can remove these integrations at any time from your tenant settings.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain tenant configuration data and derived insights for as long as your workspace is active, so that historical trends remain available on your dashboard. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your tenant's data within 90 days, except where retention is required for legal, security, or audit purposes. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us using the details in Section 8.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect the data we process, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls scoped by tenant, and authentication handled by a dedicated identity provider. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your tenant settings, or by contacting us as described below.
8. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how we handle your data, contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through additional notice within the Service.
